Heather Ead, RN, B.Sc.N., Director at Large and Manager of the OPANA Forum, Mississauga, Ontario:
Heather has been a member of the OPANA team since 2003 in a variety of roles. She is currently Clinical Educator at the Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga. Her job profile includes the PACU and Day Surgery Units at both the Mississauga and West Toronto (Queensway) sites of the Trillium Health Centre. Heather enjoys writing and presenting, and has had perianesthesia related articles published in The Dynamics Nursing Journal, The Journal of Perianesthesia Nursing and of course OPANA’s Monitor. Nancy Poole, RN, B.Sc.N., OPANA's Regional Director for Hamilton, Hamilton, Ontario:
Nancy currently works as a Nurse Educator at the Hamilton Health Science Centre in Hamilton. She joined OPANA as Regional Director for Hamilton in 2006. She is also a member of the OPANA Standards Committee, working to revise the OPANA Standards.
In September, 2008, Nancy published an article on "PreAdmission Screening of Obstructive Sleep Apnea Patients", in the Surgical Efficiency Targets newsletter, the "Spotlight". Sandra Robinson, RN, MN, NP, OPANA's Secretary, Toronto, Ontario:
Sandra currently works as an Advance Practice Nurse for the Acute Pain Service at Sunnybrook Health Centre. Prior to that she worked as an Advance Practice Nurse for the Acute Pain Service at Toronto Western Hospital, University Health Network for 5 years and as a staff nurse and patient care coordinator in PACU for 7 years. She has been an active OPANA member since 2000, joined the OPANA board of directors as Secretary in 2002 and became co-chair of the planning committees for the annual OPANA fall conferences since 2005.
In April, 2009 Sandra published a Peer Reviewed article on "What do Adult Surgical Patients Really Want To Know about Pain and Pain Management", along with her colleagues in the "Pain Management Nursing Journal", Vol.10, No 1 (March), 2009: pp22-31, issued by the American Society of Pain Management Nursing.
