I am wondering if anyone out there is using some sort of algorithm for treating postop hypothermic patients. The article in the October edition of the Journal for perianesthesia nursing about ASPAN's practice guidelines got me thinking.
I am interested in creating an algorithm for the treatment of postop hypothermia that is used by nurses,totally bypassing the pysicians as they seem to always be so reluctant to use or order bair huggers.
My thinking is, if it is left up to the nurses then it will get done.
